We Handle Cases Involving All Types of Brain Injuries

Our veteran personal injury lawyers are here to help if you or a loved one have suffered from a:

  • Open or Closed Head Injury: Brain injuries are often associated with skull fractures and penetrative head injuries. They can also occur without such injuries to the skull.
  • Mild TBI (Concussion): A TBI, which is caused by a sudden and significant force upon the head, is measured on a scale of mild, moderate, to severe. A concussion is the mildest form of TBI but can still have lasting consequences.
  • Moderate-to-Severe TBI: The more serious a TBI, the more severe your symptoms may be and the longer it may take you to recover. You also are more likely to suffer from long-term or permanent side effects. A severe TBI can lead to permanent cognitive and physical disabilities, coma, a vegetative state, and even death.
  • Anoxic Brain Injury: You may suffer brain damage if you do not receive any oxygen four minutes or longer.
  • Hypoxic Brain Injury: You may suffer a brain injury if you receive too little oxygen for four minutes or more.
  • Hemorrhage: A trauma may cause uncontrolled bleeding within your skull or brain.
  • Hematoma: A trauma may cause blood clots to form outside of the blood vessels in your brain.
  • Diffuse Brain Injury: A trauma can cause injury to a widespread area of the brain.

Brain injuries can have a lifelong impact. They can lead to cognitive difficulties, personality changes, physical limitations, and much more. You need to work with a Seattle brain injury attorney who will fight hard for you to receive full and fair compensation for all your injuries.

Were You Diagnosed with a Spinal Cord Injury?

One of the most severe injuries you can suffer in an accident is a spinal cord injury. Your spinal cord consists of nerves that carry messages between your brain and body. It is covered in three layers of protective tissue, known as the meninges, and runs through the center of your spine protected by your vertebrae.

Spinal cord injuries are referred to as complete or incomplete.

  • An incomplete spinal cord injury means the movement, sensation, and other functions of the areas of your body below the injury site are affected. How and to what degree in which they are affected varies greatly from person to person. You may lose the ability to move some parts of your body yet retain sensation. You may lose sensation in some body parts yet be able to move. You can suffer some loss of both sensation and motor function. One side of your body may be affected more than the other.
  • A complete spinal cord injury means you will lose all sensation and motor function in your body below the injury site.

Quadriplegia refers to the loss of sensation and function in your arms and hands, torso, legs and feet, and pelvic organs. Paraplegia refers to paralysis that impacts your trunk, pelvic organs, legs, and feet.

In addition to total or partial loss of feeling and movement, there are many other side effects of a spinal cord injury, including:

  • Inability to control your bladder and bowels (incontinence and retention)
  • Sexual dysfunction
  • Exaggerated reflexes and muscle spasms
  • Nerve pain, pins and needles, numbness, and/or burning sensation
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Difficulty swallowing and coughing
  • Inability regulate your blood pressure
  • Low blood pressure
  • Inability to sweat below the injury site
  • Difficulty regulating your body temperature
